Fear Not - Building Confidence In The Face of Fear

Hey, it’s your girl, Dr. Nicole Steele, The Confidence Coach.
As I sit here this fall afternoon and begin my day, I can’t help but think about the amount of money, time, and energy people have spent creating scenes and imagery to create fear and terror. Now, listen, I am in no way passing judgement on those who enjoy an occasional scary movie or a good, haunted house. Boo, do you. I too once liked that type of thing but the older I get it’s just not working for me. I have found my peace to be more precious.
But that’s not what I jumped on to chat about today, instead, I was thinking about what things are frightening to me at this point in my life or to those I serve in my line of work as a Confidence Coach. As I pondered that question, there were three things that instantly came to mind, that I would like to share with you today.
#1 – It is scary to imagine living your whole life, yet allowing fear or feelings of inadequacy to prevent you from reaching your full potential.
It makes me think about the countless people who stay stuck although they know there is so much more to life, but never fully grasping it because fear and doubt has cause them to be immobilized. There is nothing more powerful than stepping into your purpose and living up to your full potential.
How do I know, you ask, because for many years I lived my life stuck? But I also know the power of pressing past feelings of inadequacy and trading fear for faith. I know that freedom and joy that comes as you experience the unimaginable as you evolve from who you once were, into the person you were destined and designed to become.
I now get a chance to help others tap into that very thing as a visionary, leader, and coach, in and through, Diamond In The Rough, Gem Makers, and Beyond Brilliant
#2 - It is frightening to imagine having to face the daily challenges of life on my own.
I’m not sure about you, but as they say…life be lifing. It doesn’t matter who you are, or at what level you live, the trials and challenges of life escape no one. As I think about my personal journey, I can’t imagine having to have all the answers myself or having to rely on me to see me through. This is where the blessings of my faith, family, and friends play a major role.
For anyone out there who is carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, I beg you to allow the heavy burdens of life to be lifted. How do you do that you ask, first of all, you have to open your mouth, and I recommend starting with praying to God who is the ultimate burden lifter. Invite God into your situation. Seek His face and ask Him for guidance as you navigate life. He and He alone is all-knowing, all-powerful, and able to meet you at your point of need. Invite Him in.
Next, find your tribe. For some, it may be your biological family, but for others, it may be a family that you have been blessed to form through life’s experiences. Either way, find your people. People who will encourage you, provide wise counsel, and intercede on your behalf. We were not meant to do life alone, so find your tribe or tap into a community that can care for you and fully support you during life’s challenges.
#3 – Lastly, it can be terrifying as we look with uncertainty and great anticipation in the days ahead as a heated national election approaches.
It is easy to allow fear and anxiety to creep in and take over, especially if you are watching the news, and commercials and listening to the pundits talk about all the possibilities. If any of you are feeling a little overwhelmed or experiencing anxiety, I encourage you to take a moment to breathe. That’s right... take a moment to actually breathe.
Despite what it looks like and what it feels like, we are going to be alright. If each one of us does our part to exercise our right to vote and mix it with prayer for our nation, our leaders and the world, we can turn our attention toward God and place all our other concerns at His feet and trust the process.
So as you go throughout the rest of your day, I encourage you above all to trade in any fear you are feeling with faith.
In the meantime, if this has blessed you in any way, please like, share or subscribe. Until next time, I’m Dr. Nicole Steele, The Confidence Coach, encouraging you to be Bold, be Brilliant, Be Blessed.

We’ve all been there—waiting for the stars to align, the bank account to grow, the kids to get older, or the fear to fade before we step out and pursue that dream tugging at our hearts. But here’s the truth: the “perfect” time rarely comes. If you’re always waiting for conditions to be ideal, you may end up waiting forever. One of my favorite reminders says it best: “Sometimes later becomes never. Do it now.” Think about it—how many goals have you set aside with the intention of circling back “later”? Later, when you have more energy. Later, when life isn’t so busy. Later, when you feel ready. But the danger is that later can quietly slip into never. Your vision, your purpose, and your goals are too important to be left on hold. The dream inside of you was planted for a reason, and it deserves your action—not someday, but today. Fear, doubt, or procrastination may whisper excuses, but none of them are stronger than your “why.” So, where do you start? Small steps lead to big progress: 💎 Take the step — no matter how imperfect. 💎 Write the plan — clarity creates momentum. 💎 Make the call — the one you’ve been putting off. 💎 Start the thing — action beats hesitation every time. Each move you make today is an investment in your future self—the one who will thank you for the courage, the discipline, and the decision you made to begin. So don’t wait another day. Don’t let another week pass you by. The time is not later, it’s now. 👉 What’s ONE step you can take today toward your dream or goal? Share it below—I’d love to cheer you on! #DoItNow #DreamBig #TakeAction #NoBetterTime

Stop searching for happiness in the same people or places where you lost it. Sis, you didn’t hear wrong. You didn’t make the wrong decision when you chose yourself. That was courage. Now it’s time to lean fully into yourself—taking one intentional step each day toward your healing. And as you do, trust that God is mending the broken pieces, as He prepares you to rise stronger, bolder, and more confident than ever before. You were created to shine, to stand tall, and to walk in self-assurance. Don’t doubt it for a second. You’ve got this, sis. #Confidence #HealingJourney #ChooseYou #FaithAndFearlessness #YouGotThisSis

"We can’t solve our problems with the same thinking that created them." – Albert Einstein Confidence isn’t just about how you show up—it’s also about how you think. If your current thoughts got you here, but you want to go further, it’s time for a mental upgrade. This week, take an honest look at: Your mindset – Are you thinking in ways that empower you or keep you doubting yourself? Your habits – Are they building your confidence or chipping away at it? Your circle – Do the people around you believe in you, or make you question your worth? Your patterns – Are you clinging to old ways of thinking that no longer serve the confident version of you? True confidence grows when we give ourselves permission to release what holds us back—whether it’s a limiting belief, an unhealthy habit, or a relationship that drains us. This week’s challenge: Identify one thought, habit, or connection you will let go of to create space for a stronger, bolder, more confident you.

Be the Reason Someone Smiles… and Stands Taller Confidence isn’t just built in the mirror—it’s built in the moments we feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Today, YOU have the power to help someone believe in themselves a little more. Speak life. Share a genuine smile. Give a compliment that uplifts, not just flatters. Remind someone of their worth. And guess what? The more you uplift others, the more your own confidence grows. Because confident people create confident spaces. Today, I challenge you to be bold enough to be kind. Be brave enough to build someone else up. Be the reason someone believes in themselves today.

Don’t Be Discouraged by Closed Doors Just because a door didn’t open doesn’t mean your journey is over — it simply means it wasn’t your door. If the door doesn’t open, it’s not your door. Trust that what God has for you is already yours. Keep showing up. Keep preparing. Keep believing. Your consistency and faith are not in vain. God’s timing is perfect, and when the door meant for you opens, no one and nothing can shut it. Stay faithful. Stay focused. Stay ready. Your moment is coming — right on time.

THINK ABOUT IT THURSDAY... Hey sis, you don’t need to shrink yourself to be accepted. You don’t owe anyone access to a version of you that compromises your peace. I've come to learn that while people pleasing may feel polite, it can quietly steal your power, your time, and your joy. Saying “yes” to everything often means saying “no” to yourself, and that's not cute. I want you to remember, you’re allowed to do what’s best for YOU. That doesn’t make you selfish—it makes you wise. Boundaries are not walls; they are bridges to your well-being. Today, give yourself permission to: - Say no without over-explaining - Choose rest without guilt - Protect your peace without apology Drop a comment below if you're done being everything for everyone. It's time to normalize self-respect over self-sacrifice.

Stop Settling. Start Striving. Sis, you weren’t created to play small. You weren’t designed to dim your light. You weren’t placed here to settle for crumbs when you were born to feast. It’s time to raise your standards, stretch your vision, and step into more — more purpose, more peace, more power. Stop asking, “Is this enough?” and start declaring, “There’s more for me, and I’m going after it all!” No more shrinking. No more second-guessing. Only growth, greatness, and hitting your goals. This is your season to STRIVE, not settle.

STAY FOCUSED GIRL! When you fix your eyes on God and your goals, something powerful happens… You grow, you glow, and you inspire others to do the same. Distractions will come, but don’t let them detour your destiny. Stay planted in purpose, grounded in prayer, and focused on the bigger picture. Your consistency is your glow up.

CONFIDENCE CHECK "Confidence doesn’t mean you’re perfect—it means you’re courageous enough to keep showing up." Sis, perfection is not the goal. Consistency, courage, and showing up even when it’s hard—that’s where your power lies. Every time you rise, speak up, try again, or take one more step… you’re building the kind of confidence that can’t be shaken. * Show up messy. * Show up uncertain. * Just keep showing up. The more you do, the more unstoppable you become. Tag a woman who keeps showing up—no matter what.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY "You owe it to yourself to show up for your life, and you owe it to your Creator to show up for the life He gave you." – Jennifer Allwood Let that sink in. Yes, we’re living in challenging times. The weight is real. The battles are personal. But even still, you were created for more than just surviving. You were created to live, to lead, to shine. 💫 The time is not someday. 💫 The time is now. 💫 Show up, even if it’s with shaky hands and a hopeful heart. There’s purpose in your presence, power in your press, and destiny on the other side of your “yes.” The world is waiting. So show up… for YOU.
